Bus tender structure Report 2020

The 2020 UITP Bus Tender Structure Report 3.1 (TSD 3.1) replaces the previous 2018 edition. First published in 2005, the report has become an important reference document serving as a decision support tool for the entire bus sector on the tendering of electric buses. The new chapter 17 deals with electromobility.



Sharing of data in public transport: Value, governance and sustainability

This new study looks deeper into the current state of data sharing in public transport, and discusses guidelines and recommendations for organisations that wish to understand the benefits of, and best practices in, data sharing.

Ticketing is the gateway to mobility and the freedom for all to move about. This report clarifies the current landscape of ticketing and payment in public transport, details the different technologies and solutions on the market and looks ahead to relevant emerging trends in the mobility sector.

EU Projects Highlights

Recognised as a world leader in innovation for the public transport sector, UITP has been a leading partner in a wide range of EU-funded research projects for many years. Here are some projects we want to highlight in 2020.


SHOW (SHared automation Operating models for Worldwide adoption) aims to support the deployment of shared, connected and electrified automation in urban transport, to advance sustainable urban mobility.


The DATA4PT project aims to advance data-sharing practices in the public transport sector by supporting the development of data exchange standards and models, to fulfil the needs of multimodal travel information service providers.


The RIDE2RAIL project aims to develop solutions and tools that will facilitate the efficient combination of ride-sharing and scheduled transport services such as bus and rail.


The SOLUTIONSplus project aims to enable transformational change towards sustainable urban mobility through innovative and integrated electric mobility solutions.
